The Island Going Artist Residency consists of six days at sea and four days on land for 5 artists, exploring the St.Kilda archipelago and the unique waters and islands of the Sound of Harris. Island Going is facilitated by An Lanntair, Stornoway.

"‘Island Going’ uses the land and seascapes of the Outer Hebrides as venue and research arena, providing a rare opportunity to spend time at sea in ‘remote’ locations as well as offering a window into the language and culture of the islands through an involved and participatory approach."

Taking place in June 2019, we sailed to St Kilda to explore the island and the surrounding coastline and sea of Harris.

This time in the Outer Hebrides was immensely influential to my work, and has sustained practice in the years following the residency. The works published in Ernest Journal and exhibited at 'Through the Looking Glass' in London stemmed directly from this residency.

There is exhibition planning in process for presentation of works in the Outer Hebrides, expected to exhibit 2021.
